Miniatures take on a new tune!
Look what happens when you let me loose with a power tool!
Once I had gotten over the destruction of the guitar, I took a deep breath and began to sand all the edges smooth.
Then I added mount board to the back wall to create a flat surface for the wallpaper. This was a little tricky to keep cutting and positioning until it fitted. Notice how the back wall is in four sections. I just couldn’t get the back in one piece as it wouldn’t fit through the hole!!
Then I wallpapered the back wall, added two floors and covered the floors with some carpet.
At this stage I also added the lights, a couple of lamps and then some hidden lighting to help see the contents without a massive glare, you can see this in a later picture of completion.
This gift has everything specific to Cathryn. She loves to travel so the floor is strewn with travel books and maps. Her older sister like to draw and as a young girl at school she had an article in the local paper. You can see a mini replica of the newspaper article. Cathryn has her guitar and her TV so she can watch her music channels. While hiding behind the mini kitchen cupboard is her stash of CD’s
This is the kitchen cupboard which has two cups of tea one for me and one for Cathryn and of course you can’t have tea without cake!! on the inside of the door are photos of the family including the two dogs Mozart and Schubert.
Here is a lovely chair that I upholstered in a music fabric, a mini recorder to remind her of her childhood when she used to play, Cathryn could read music before words just about!! She was a little bossy too so the mug reminds us of those days. Above the chair is a mini picture of one of her sisters oil paintings.
This is the end result
